While you live, shine

I am continuing to make good progress on proofreading the FOISA project, to the point that I will soon be in a position to publish.

The shadow briefly returned at the weekend, but there is no shadow with sunshine to cast it, and the brightness and return of spring in general helped to quickly dispatch it like the smoke that it is.

The TikTok algorithm saw fit to serve me up a beautiful performance of people performing the Seikilos Epitaph to a statue of Athena. It felt fitting for the time of year where I take a moment to think about the 12 months that have been and the year to come.

In my experience, March is a much better month for resolutions and change than January, as you are not left fighting the gloom as well as bad habits. I always start the process by reflecting on whether my life is better now than at the same point last year. For the first time in a while the evidence overwhelmingly points to yes. I find myself once again feeling optimistic.
