Trip to the coast

I had a lovely couple of days away on the South Coast this weekend for the steam gala on the Swanage Railway. It was amusing how people defaulted to my partner being the train nerd - they were forced to correct them and point them my way. I got to see and ride far more engines than I’d expected, met some really lovely people, and drank some very good beer. It was perfect.

We even managed to enjoy some sunshine.

I also came away with plentiful prize winnings from the 2p machines, but was a bit miffed when a maoam went down the house chute rather than the pay out one. They appear to be council run so there’s a request needs making about that!

After a busy start to the year, it was really nice to properly disconnect. So much so that, for the first time in memory, I managed to miss that the clocks were changing. I only realised when I got home.
